Loose weight without dieting

Many sources promise just that. Many books promise to lose weight with diets or get rock hard abs with different exercise machine. I want to believe it’s true but it seams to good to be true.

The real way to loose weight is buy eating less.

It’s easy to say but a little harder to do, right?

Well it isn’t that hard once you follow a few guide lines. It’s never easy but it gets easier.

The problem for me is that I always felt hungry and I let that control my life. Anyone who has ever tried dieting knows how it feels. You feel like you are deprived. The result often is not sticking to your diet. That’s why diets don’t work.

Instead of dieting, try to eat less everyday. Don’t let the traditional way to thinking drive you. Don’t clean your plate; instead focus on always leaving a little on your plate. Gradually you will find that you need less food to feel satisfied.

Follow the following 7 steps to eating less

1. Smaller Plate.

Let’s be honest. We have been told all of our life to eat everything on our plate. Even if I’m not hungry I’m always compelled to eat everything that’s on my plate. The saying “The eyes are bigger than the stomach” surely applied to me.
If you are like me, you’ve been brainwashed into cleaning every thing on your plate. Well the solution to this is that you should start eating out of a smaller plate. Having a portion-sized meal on a large plate makes it look empty and it feels like it won’t be enough to satisfy your hunger. Eating a smaller plate will make the portion look bigger and more satisfying.

Next time you are eating try it and see for yourself how well it works. Not only will you be able to eat everything on your plate but you will also be amazed at how less food you will be eating since you probably won’t be going back for a second portion.

2. Make sure you are hungry before eating

The next time you go to put food in your mouth, ask yourself a question. Are you REALLY hungry? Does your body really need that food, that snack, or that second portion at dinner? If the answer is a definite yes, then go ahead and eat. If you find yourself answering that question with an honest NO or even a maybe, then you might just be bored, sad or depressed. Instead of eating do something that will make you feel better. Sometimes the only thing you need is something to distract you from thinking about food. Drink a glass of water, call a friend, take a walk, read a book etc.

3. Change your snaking habits

Instead of snaking on chips or cookies try fruits and vegetables.
Snacks aren't necessarily bad for you. Healthy snacks can help keep your metabolic rate and your energy level up. They also can prevent your from overeating between and during meals.

You can have fruits or a good yogurt or even dried fruits. If you love popcorn you could buy an air popper and eat popcorn without added salt or butter (add more flavor with sea salt, or other seasonings such as paprika, cayenne).

Baby carrots are great because you can bring it every where. Popsicles made with 100% fruit juice or yogurt is very satisfying and refreshing. Frozen or canned fruit with low fat yogurt or in a smoothie are a great way to feel satisfied.

In my opinion, anything that doesn’t contain a lot of calories and a lot of fat is a good snack but fruits and veggies are the best way to go.

If for some reason those still won’t do and you have to have that chip or that
cookie than have only one or two instead of heating the whole bag.

4. Indulge but don’t go overboard

You don't want to feel deprived or hungry all the time, that’s why you want to cut calories but you want to feel satisfied. If you start to feel deprived or hungry between meals then have a healthy snack.

Don't count calories; just try to watch your portions. Within a matter of a couple of weeks, you will be adjusted to the new serving sizes and they will seem.

Cut out high-calorie condiments and sugars. Instead of getting a coffee with sugar, have a coffee with Splenda. Instead of having a sandwich with a lot of mayonnaise, have a sandwich with a little bit of light mayonnaise. Try mustard or ketchup on your hamburger instead of mayonnaise. Order salad dressing on the side so that you can control the amount you put in the salad.

5. Anticipate temptation.

If you know you can't resist cookies or ice cream than don't keep at home. If you are going somewhere with friends and family and you know you'll have a hard time controlling yourself, make a decision before you get there about what you will eat and stick to it. Tell your family and friend to help you stick to that decision.

Having a strong support system is great since you don’t have to do it alone. Your family and friends can’t do it for you but they can certainly cheer you on and help you.

If you are going to the restaurant ask the waiter if there are smaller portions available so that you won’t end up eating to much.

6. Limit the calories you drink.

Drinks are hidden calories for most people. I never used to think that buy drinking juice I was actually getting fatter. Well some drink can have lots of calories. Try to limit the amount of calorie filled beverage you drink. Go for the less calories equivalence or even better drink a glass of water. It is really best if you skip or limit your amount of soda. There is nothing healthy about soda. Diet sodas come in calorie-free versions, which are much better options if you have to have soda.

Drink 100% juice. Juice isn’t the same as having a piece of fruit or vegetable. Make sure it is 100% juice and doesn’t have added sugar or sweetener.

Limit your consumption of sports drinks, vitamin waters and flavored waters. A lot people don’t realize that there are a surprising number of calories found in those.

7. Drink lots of water.

Drinking plain old water is a great way to make sure you aren’t consuming excess calories. Water is calorie-free and good for the body. Plus if you are managing your water needs well, you won't feel overly thirsty and resort to unhealthy alternatives.

Water suppresses the appetite naturally and helps the body metabolize fats. An increase in water intake can reduce fat deposits.Drinking water is important if you're trying to lose weight, some studies have shown that thirst and hunger sensations are triggered together. If there is a slight dehydration the thirst mechanism may be mistaken for huger and one may eat when the body is actually craving fluid. As most food contains some water, if one doesn't drink much they may be subconsciously driven to eat more to gain the necessary water supply. Drink 8 glasses of water each day and it should help you eat less.

In Conclusion

Combined with a good exercise program, eating less and better should help you achieve your weigh loss goal. Try eating smaller portion, try to snack on healthier food and try to drink lots of water. This should help you loose weight and become healthier. What ever you do don’t give up it will be hard at first but it is so worth it. Do this for yourself. Take the time for yourself you are so worth it.

Good luck to you on this journey to finding your slim self.
